In my spare time I love
to work with wood. Most of the time I make wooden boxes.
I usually have no specific size or shape when I start. I
just look at what wood I have at the time and then make a quick
decision as to what size and shape the box will become.
For the most part the boxes vary in size from 4 in. x 4 in. x 4
in. up to the size of a shoe box. Here are some of my favorites:

The wood used to make
this box was taken from the floor of a barn from my family's
ranch. The wonderful coloring of the wood is formed from the animal
urine that has soaked into the wood through out several years of
use, and thus is named Piss Board. Don't worry though, the
wood smells nothing like a barn!

This box is made from
1/4 in. oak. After cutting and sanding each piece I
glued the sides and base together. The rose was
applied to the lit using a wood burning iron for the outline
of the rose, then colored pencils were used to fill in the
petals and leaves. A clear coat was applied for the
finish.
